Stabbing Suspect Had Previous Romantic Relationship With Victim Before Virginia Arrest: Police

A man who stabbed his ex to death in Prince George's County was apprehended in Virginia and will face multiple murder charges, authorities announced.

Eric Anthony King, 25, who has no fixed address, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of 33-year-old Diamond Abney in Suitland after the two were previously in a relationship.

According to a spokesperson from the Prince George's County Police Department, before noon on Monday, Oct. 23, officers responded to an apartment in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive in Suitland, where they found Abney unresponsive suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Abney was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.

Police say that after stabbing Abney, King fled the scene, before he was ultimately apprehended at a motel in Dumfries, Virginia, with an assist by the Prince William County Police Department on Tuesday morning.

King is now awaiting extradition back to Prince George's County to face the charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
